LASIK or laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis is a surgery, used to change the shape of the cornea in order to achieve better vision. Through this, vision correction for farsightedness, nearsightedness and astigmatism can be done and the person can be free from using the glasses or contact lenses. This procedure has gained popularity of late, as it is painless and usually the patient gains a good vision within twenty-four hours.
